Why Test Your Swimming Pool Water?
Testing
your Swimming Pool water regularly is not only vital to your own
health, but to your equipment as well. Unbalanced water can lead to
corrosion and deterioration of your heat exchanger and/or other
swimming pool hardware which can be very expensive to fix. Most Swimming Pool Problems can be avoided simply by using good swimming pool testing equipment like the Taylor Pool Test. I learned
this lesson the painful way, when I had to replace a heat exchanger
last June for $750.00. Since I paid a swimming pool guy to regularly
come and take care of the pool, I knew nothing about testing my own
water. Sadly, I knew nothing about my own swimming pool at all. I
learned from another expert that putting Chlorine tablets in the
strainer was not a good idea, and most likely led to the corrosion of
the heat exchanger. I decided right then, that I was going to take
matters into my own hands and learn how to take care of my own pool. I
learned that the secret to keeping your pool water healthy year round
is a little education and the proper pool testing kits. But, if I could choose one and only one, it would be a Taylor Pool Test. Why Use More Than One Pool Testing Kit?
In short, to avoid Swimming Pool Problems. The longer answer, is convenience and consistency. Over the summer as I became more familiar with the many different
types of pool testing methods, I found it helpful to have a couple of
different types of kits. The test strips make testing quick and easy,
but not quite as accurate as the liquid test kits which take more time.
By only buying and using the quick, easy and convenient test strips,
you run a greater risk of developing unforeseen water chemistry
problems. On the other hand, if all you own is one of the more
time-consuming liquid test kits, you may be less motivated to spend the
time required to test your pool regularly. Checking your pool regularly
is the best way to keep a crystal clear, sparkling swimming pool. For
that reason, I recommend buying and owning both Liquid Test Kits and
Quick Test Strips at all times. Not, only will you will be sure to
check your pool water more often, but you will be more accurate doing
it. Also, you will quickly learn to compare the results and of the
different testing methods in case there are any doubts in your
analysis. Sometimes, it can be difficult comparing the colors to the
charts on either of the two types of testing methods.
